Los Bala

Circo Jazz Nonet

Los Bala was a very particular jazz/ rock / circus /cinematic band from Lima - Perú, that performed regularly in the early 00's.

The project was created by two guitar players and composers, Diego Eslava and Jan Malachowski,  completing the original quartet were upright bassist Noel Marambio and drummer Santiago Pillado.

Their music blended the energy of surf rock / rock n' roll with jazz, gipsy jazz and cartoon / cinematic / circus music.

At the time, and due to the characteristics of their music, the band was hired to performed in several dance and theater plays, which encouraged them to write, produce and performed their own string puppet play "Le Muñequé" on mid 2004.

Now, after almost 20 years of their split; Malachowski has arranged and produced the iconic material, adding a peculiar five-piece horn section with a mix of classic and jazz instruments: Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone, Bass Clarinet and Bassoon to give a more cartoon-like sound.

The album is ready to be released and with that in the horizon, rebirth this unique music project.
